Q. Am I ready to take on a Hero Challenge event?

Including weight training into your routine will help with the physical strength elements of the obstacles. If you’re not sure just get in touch and we’ll happily give you some pointers to get you there.
Q. How do I register?
A. That’s easy, simply click on the Book Online button on the main page and you’ll be taken to the booking system page.

A. Yes, of course. We openly welcome anybody who wishes to take part as a means of raising funds for a charity. In fact we will help to promote your efforts, please contact us with details of who you are raising funds for, why you are raising funds and a little bit about yourself. We can then promote your fundraising efforts through the Hero Challenge social media accounts.
Also, all of our tickets are intended to be charity fundraisers. Racers can sign up for charity tickets with the intention of raising sponsorship or they can get a standard entry and part of that money is a fixed charity donation.
If you are a charity who wishes to use Hero Challenge as a vehicle to raise funds please please get in touch and we can help you with the process.
Q. What clothing should I wear?
A. As the Hero Challenge events take place in April, chances are it could be quite mixed weather. It is the UK after all, we could have glorious sunshine, torrential rain or snow!
Normal running gear is usually the best choice, lightweight and preferably something that does not hold water too much. As a number of the obstacles could involve water / mud you will definitely get wet, any clothing that can shed the water quickly will be much more suitable. If it is cool, then it is advisable to wear a base thermal layer under your normal running gear.
Bringing a full spare set of clothes for after the event is recommended. Also pack a bin liner for dirty clothing and footwear to save the car upholstery!
Q. What about footwear?
A. A good off road trainer is advisable. As many of the areas may be slippy a good off road or lightly studded sole would be best.
However please do not wear large studded footwear (i.e. football boots) or running spikes of any sort, both of these are dangerous to both yourself and other people around you.
You will NOT be able to take part if you wear large studded footwear or spikes.
Q. Do I have to complete all the obstacles?
A. Hero Challenge is a personal challenge and as such if you wish to miss out an obstacle you can do so. All of the obstacles are manageable, however some can be quite challenging and some may need assistance from fellow participants.
We appreciate that people of all levels of fitness and ability wish to complete Hero Challenge, so we have devised varying degrees of difficulty at many of the obstacles, so that if you wish a tougher challenge then opt for the more difficult option of completing the obstacle, likewise if you need an easier option to get over an obstacle, that will be in place too.
Q. Do I need to be able to swim?
A. No. There could be a number of water based obstacles in Hero Challenge, however the maximum depth of water will be around waist deep. We will have safety cover in place at all obstacles with specific water safety cover where required.
Q. Can my family and friends come to watch?
A. Yes, of course. We want all your supporters to have a great day as well as yourself.
Friends, family, in fact any supporters are welcome to come along and watch. Entry for spectators is FREE.
Q. Is there parking available at the venue?
A. Yes, there will be parking available. The cost for parking will be £5 per car. There will be staff organising parking and collecting fees. Please do not park in any unauthorised locations as we wish to maintain the goodwill with the local residents who have welcomed Hero Challenge to the area.
Q. Will there be photos taken during the event?
A. Yes, there will be a number of professional photographers around the course, taking images all day. These will be posted online shortly after the event, ready for you to view and download.
Q. Is there a time limit for completing Hero Challenge events?
A. No, but marshals around the course will monitor and judge to see if a participant is struggling to complete the course.
If you feel you need longer time, please ask to be placed in an earlier wave when completing your online entry. We cannot guarantee this will be possible, but the earlier you enter the greater chance we will have of being able to do this.
Q. Can I see the terms and waiver before signing up?
